James Robie’s Journey to Graduation

After a challenging start in life and leaving school at a young age, James Robie built a successful career in construction, even starting his own contracting business at 22. Yet, the regret of not finishing high school lingered. With the encouragement of his wife, James enrolled at Sequoia Adult School, where supportive teachers and engaging learning reignited his passion for education—especially math. In just three months,
he earned his equivalency certificate and is now pursuing a business degree at Cañada College. “I no longer carry the internal shame of thinking I’m less than others,” he says. “With dedication, anyone can succeed.”
