Prepare for College at an Adult School

Maybe you need more money to get you closer to the life you want. Or you told yourself years ago that one day, you would be a college graduate – and you haven’t forgotten that dream. Whatever is driving you toward college, ACCEL San Mateo County adult schools and member colleges are here to help you create your new future.

Cañada College, College of San Mateo and Skyline College work closely with adult schools in their areas to make sure adult learners can easily make the move to college student. As an adult-school student, you get career planning and counseling. You also have the chance to participate in events that familiarize you with your local community college, so you know exactly where to go and what to do when it’s time to enroll.

You can actually get started with college courses at the adult school, through career classes. Many of the adult school career classes are in partnership with the three community colleges. You can earn a certificate in an industry you like and jump right into a job – and then keep on learning at your local community college. Keep working toward the life you picture for yourself by earning more certificates and/or working toward an associate degree. The career opportunities will open up. You’ll earn more money. And the knowledge and skills you learn can be used anywhere you go!
